Travel

Travel to Åland
The easiest (fastest and cheapest) way to travel to Åland is to take a plane to Stockholm and then take the bus from Stockholm to Kapellskär and the ferry from there to Mariehamn, Åland.
You will arrive at the City Terminal with the bus or train from the airport and on the 1st floor (Where the busses leave from and arrive at) you can find the Viking line office for the ferrys, there you can buy a ticket for the bus to the Ferry in Kapellskär and the ticket for the ferry Ålandsfärjan. The bus and boat will take you to Mariehamn in 4 hours! Here you can find the timetable for the ferry:

There are also other options for travelling to Åland, by plane from Arlanda Stockholm (notice that Ryanair will take you to Skavsta or Västerås airport and other airtravel companies to Arlanda) or Helsinkki to Mariehamns airport will take about half an hour. Here you can see the timetables for the plane:

Viking line, Birka cruises and Tallink also have bigger cruiseferrys departing from Stockholm to Mariehamn with a travel time for about 6-8 hours.
Viking line and Tallink also departs from Turku (Åbo) and Helsinkki, Finland to Åland, that trip will be 5-12 hours
